Design Sheets.

Slowly Coming Together!

Well, after a morning of researching for inspiration and sketching designs, it has now come to the point where I need to decide on the content of my posters. I have decided to portray my 'opposite' through the visuals of the posters and not the content itself. This has given me the opportunity to explore another topic; ideally something I can represent through image and type. I was going to use todays news headlines but I am thinking of using superstitions now instead; I think this will lead to more intriguing results. I have considered using colour as the theme, however, I'm not convinced the outcome would be of intrigue.

Simplicity is the answer....

I have decided that I want to keep my posters simple yet meeting the brief's spec, of course! This will allow me to thoroughly investigate and explore in the time available to us.... which seems so short and fast paced in comparison to the 5 weeks we had on the last brief!

Possible Designs......

I think these three would work well as a series ...however, they do not have any purpose and do not convey an message other than colour.

Another possible series.

Again, they are nothing but visuals exploring colour ...I want my posters to convey more than that!

A clear line of investigation......

I don't feel this project has begun as well as it could have, simply due to me not choosing an 'opposite' to work with from the beginning. My investigation so far has been very vague with no clear line of enquiry; more of a general investigation into typographic solutions. I have not made much progress over the past 2 days so, subsequently, I have made myself choose an 'opposite' to work with today:

Coloured/Uncoloured

I think my main issue was not wanting to make the decision and commit to it. So, I have chosen 'colour' to allow me to focus on the aesthetics of my posters, yet allow the content to be versatile; I could restrict it to colour or use a topic with no connection to colour. Best get cracking.......

Considerations.

I have begun researching and sketching ideas for my posters for 'Letter, Word, Sentence, Paragraph' and found that I need consider whether I am going to explore the 'opposite' across the three posters or whether each individual poster will explore this itself.

Final Books.

These are my final 'books'. All I need now is the bellybands......
