2//Grouping
3//Audio
...working with 4 layers containing solids.
// 'U' ...shortcut to see and animated property when layer is selected
//Looking at acceleration and deceleration... important as you do not begin at 30 mph and finish at 30mph when driving a car!
Vary speed over time.
...select layer
If you are leaving a key frame you ease out of the keyframe.
Keyframe icon changes.
Green has closer dots at beginning of red line.
The closer these dots, the slower the movement. Vice verser.
Ease into keyframe.....
...dots closer at right hand side.
Easy Ease.
...select both keyframes.
This applies to any animation keyframe.
//Graph
Horizontal line represents constant speed
....the speed is equal as the first and last line are the same
//Easy Ease...
//Ease out
//Ease in
can select a keyframe on this graph (use yellow handle)
...can manipulate the curve of the graph.
...ensure edit speed graph is selected.
...really fast, then gradual slow down.
can accel/decel using just the graph anchors.
//Animating a pendulum
double click ellipse tool to make square circular.
use pan-behind tool to move anchor point
This graph accelerates and decelerates the pendulum at the required places.
//Establish a Parent/Child Relationship between layers (grouping)
use layer switches..
Choose multiple layers ..select the parent layer for all of them.
As you make changes to the parent layer the children layers will change too. All will rotate around the anchor point of the parent layer.
Can animate multiple layers using one set of keyframes.
Children will always go where the parent goes, but they can also move independently.
They can individually rotate, scale etc. However, this does not apply to the opacity of the layers.
/Example...
Set the parent of the wheels to be the red solid...
The wheels will still move independently.
to follow the path of the road 'auto-orientate'
//Nested Compositions
the way that you can put one composition inside another
use this when you have many layers within a composition
three layers have been replace with one layer.
can change opacity in this way (something which we were unable to do previously)
can open up car composition elements and make changes.
these changes will then appear in nested composition.
the two files are linked.
//could make smaller compositions and nest the compositions inside one in order to make the 60 sec title sequence.
smoke puffs get cut off ...need to ignore boundaries of original composition.
use 'collapse transformations' layer switch
simply 'click' icon.
//ADUIO
audio has a fixed duration
can only hear the audio when you do a RAM preview (not when you hit the spacebar)
can add keyframes to fade audio in and out.
...can trim audio to fit exactly.
best files: AIFF/WAVE
to convert an audio file:
